Shawnee Family Health Center offers primary care services for adult clients, age 5 and up. Services include:
- Health assessments
- Diagnosis and treatment of various chronic conditions
- Treatment of minor acute conditions such as colds, flu, infections, etc.
- Preventive exams (Example: Well Woman)
- Wellness education
- Smoking cessation
- Sport Physicals
Your primary health care will be provided by a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Nurse Practitioners are registered nurses with advanced education (master’s degee). Nurse practitioners also have to pass a board certification exam. The Nurse Practitioner’s focus is on health promotion, disease prevention, and health education and counseling. From treating illness to advising patients on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Nurse Practitioners are fully qualifed healthcare providers. Two of our locations have been desginated by the State of Ohio as Rural Health Centers.
